Electronic Warfare Systems Engineer

What You Will Be Doing:

Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking candidates to join the Analysis and Engineering team in our Waterford, CT location.  In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and subject matter experts to conduct research, design, test and evaluation of naval Electronic Warfare systems.  This includes all phases of system design, development, integration, validation and verification of system capabilities and components.  General responsibilities of the team include:

  • Participate in EW Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) Innovative Research of modern system, software, hardware, and information assurance requirements

  • Design system components, and create engineering drawing packages and Interface Control Documents (ICD’s)

  • Conduct analysis of antenna equipment performance and signal processing algorithms

  • Plan, execute and analyze test events, both live and simulated

  • Perform obsolescence mitigation and re-design

Required Qualifications:

The candidate must have an understanding of Submarine EW systems and principles and demonstrated success developing complex electromagnetic systems.  The candidate should be familiar with systems engineering processes, and have experience collaborating with highly technical customers on system development projects.  At a minimum, the candidate must possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering, with a background in RF systems

  • 5-10 years relevant experience in EW systems engineering, design, analysis and/or test

  • U.S. citizen eligible for U.S. government security clearance

 Any of the following qualities are also highly desired:

  • Master’s degree in electronics engineering, with concentration in antenna, design and or EW coursework

  • Experience working in an ISO 9000 environment

  • Experience with Solid Works including Schematics, Electronics, and/or Printed Circuit Board design packages

  • Experience conducting data analysis in MATLAB on theoretical models, synthetic data sets, and live measurements

  • Experience collaborating with Government agencies on development projects

  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) engineering processes

  • Experience developing TEMPALT and SHIPALT drawing packages.
