Radar Systems Technician

Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking candidates to join the Analysis and Engineering team in our Waterford, CT location.  In this role you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of radar engineers and subject matter experts to conduct research, design, test and evaluation of naval surveillance radars and navigation systems.  This includes all phases of system development, including integration, validation and verification of radar capabilities and components.  General responsibilities of the team include:

  • Research of modern system, software, hardware, and information assurance requirements

  • Design, execution, and post-mission analysis of radar test events, both live and simulated

  • Technical risk assessment of 3rd party radar designs and architectures

  • Performance analysis of antenna equipment and digital signal processing algorithms

  • Analysis of modern radar interfaces, message protocols, and high speed switch networks

 What You Need To Bring To The Table (Required Qualifications):

The candidate must have an understanding of fundamental radar principles, with demonstrated success operating and maintaining complex electromagnetic systems.  The candidate should also be familiar with modern Department of Defense (DoD) systems engineering processes, and have experience collaborating with government customers on system development projects.  At a minimum, the candidate must possess the following:

  • Considerable operational experience (equivalent of E-6 and above) with surface, submarine or other military sensors with emphasis on radar

  • Experience with radar development, test and evaluation efforts

  • U.S. citizen eligible for U.S. government security clearance

 Any of the following qualities are also highly desired:

  • Experience conducting data analysis on theoretical models, synthetic data sets, and live measurements

  • Submarine Qualified E-8, E-9, CWO or LDO in Electronics

  • Qualified Contact Coordinator, Radar System Coordinator, Sensor Supervisor, or equivalent experience in port egress and ingress scenarios

  • Experience collaborating with organizations such as TAG, Squadron, TYCOM, or OPTEVFOR for radar development, test and performance evaluation

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
