Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking a technical writer to support to support US Navy modeling and simulation (M&S) related efforts. The successful candidate should possess impeccable writing and presentation development skills and be a confident, articulate oral communicator. The Technical Writer will participate as a member of an engineering team performing M&S based capability assessments, and will be responsible for developing templates for technical documentation. Duties will also include documenting technical outputs for each model developed, and configuration management and maintenance of a library of documentation. Products developed by the technical writer will include, but not be limited to, formal technical reports and presentations. The successful candidate must be able to think creatively and solve problems as well as collaborate effectively with senior government and military staff with little supervision.
What You Need To Bring To The Table (Required Qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (preference given to candidates with degrees in English, Math, Engineering, or Physics)
Minimum 3 years’ experience each of the following (experience can be concurrent):
Participation in Modeling and Simulation, Research and Development, or US Navy Threat/Vulnerability Assessments
Technical writing for military-related programs/projects
Performing program/project management support to include support for any or all of the following activities:
Project planning and tracking
General database management
Minimum 2 years’ experience in at least three of the following tasks (can be concurrent with above requirements):
Project fiscal plan development, update, metrics, and monitoring
Project activity and artifact tracking (e.g. action items, project status, deliverables)
Meeting coordination and progress report tracking
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
U.S. citizenship, currently holding a Secret (or higher) U.S. government security clearance
Desired, but not required:
Military experience in a tactical environment
Proficiency with Visio and Publisher software
