Undersea Acoustics Software Engineer
Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking a software engineer with critical thinking and effective communication skills to perform systems and software engineering functions for defense system development projects. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the development of mission-critical, military software applications across all phases of the software development lifecycle.
What you will be doing
This position will be responsible for developing software for real-time embedded systems for Submarine, Surveillance, and Surface Ship acoustic sonar programs. Individual be expected to participate in all phases of software development on an AGILE team to include: high level design, detailed design, development, and Integration and Test. Individuals will be required to work very closely with an integrated functional team to ensure adherence to requirements through operational deployment. Could be called upon to work with hardware during installation, setup, and maintenance/debug efforts.
This position includes the potential for travel.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
Acoustic/Signal Processing; SONAR, ASW Domain Knowledge
Working knowledge of Sonar Signal Conditioning, Beamforming and Post-Processing Techniques
Software Development Lifecycles; Agile Processes; DevOps Processes
Java Swing; JavaFX
Graphical User Interface (GUI) development experience
Redmine or JIRA experience
Working in Linux/Unix operating system environment (must have good working knowledge of executing Linux commands)
Object Oriented Programming; C++, Java
VirtualBox or other virtualization technologies
Proficiency in Linear Algebra and Differential Equations
Excellent communication skills
