FATSIM Phase III Small Business Innovative Research

Under this effort, the Fifth Generation Fighter Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures Simulation Trainer (FATSIM) team developed an innovative, low-cost, medium-to-high fidelity, easily deployable, gaming approach to effectively train, rehearse, and exercise fifth-generation tactical fighter missions for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). FATSIM’s framework enables any tactical fighter trainer to be built on a PC-based Commercial Off-the-Shelf hardware solution, without reliance on the actual hardware or software of the aircraft. A four-seat prototype of this trainer was delivered to the AFRL Human Performance Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
